Short answer
You can self-host Supabase with Docker on a server with at least 4 GB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 40 GB of SSD. Supabase recommends 8 GB of RAM, 4 cores and 80 GB of SSD. These figures are for running all components, according to the official Docker guide.
Railway's plans page lists 0.5 GB of RAM and 0.5 GB of volume storage per service on the Free plan (read 7 Nov 2026). Supabase's minimum is for the whole stack and is not split by service, so check each service in the template against those limits.
Supabase's self-hosting overview says "managed backups and PITR" are among the platform features not available when self-hosting. It lists "Backups and disaster recovery" among the things you are responsible for (read 7 Nov 2026).

Requirements
The official doc gives a minimum and a recommended level "for running all Supabase components, suitable for development and small to medium production workloads".
- RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB+ recommended
- CPU: 2 cores minimum, 4 cores+ recommended
- Disk: 40 GB SSD minimum, 80 GB+ SSD recommended
Docker is required.
Trimming the stack
The Docker guide says that if you don't need some services, "such as Realtime, Storage, imgproxy, or Edge Runtime", you can remove them from docker-compose.yml "to reduce resource requirements". It also says the default setup does not include Logs and Analytics.

Hosting options
A Railway template for Supabase is at railway.com/deploy/supabase, created by Six.
It shows "Total Projects 957".
The 4 GB RAM minimum is above the Railway Free plan, which allows "0.5 GB RAM per service".
The 2 core and 40 GB disk minimums are also above the Free "Up to 1 vCPU" and "0.5 GB of volume storage".
