Self-hosted alternatives
Open source alternatives to iorad
iorad is a tool for creating interactive step-by-step tutorials without code.
Original introduction
iorad describes itself as a way to "Create interactive step-by-step tutorials in seconds." The open source tools below build step-by-step product tours, and all three use the MIT License. They are code libraries that developers add to their own app, and none of them records a walkthrough without code the way iorad does. Each tour is written as steps in code.
How this list is built
The projects below are sorted by GitHub stars. Star counts and last commit dates are read from the public GitHub API. The line under each name is generated from the category, the license, and whether the project can be self-hosted. 3 of 3 have an OSI-approved SPDX license, a commit in the last 12 months, and a repository GitHub has not archived.
We left out Usertour, Shepherd.js and Intro.js. Usertour is the closest no-code match, but code in its enterprise folders falls under a separate enterprise license. Shepherd.js is dual-licensed under AGPL-3.0 and a commercial license, and Intro.js asks commercial projects to buy a commercial license.
