Self-hosted alternatives

Open source alternatives to Flatfile

Flatfile is data preparation and migration software that helps teams extract, map, transform and validate messy data.

Original introduction

Flatfile calls itself "the AI data preparation and migration software that helps teams extract, prepare, map, transform, and validate messy data." The three open source tools below all use the MIT License. Each one is an import component that you embed in your own app, so they cover the file import step and leave out the rest of a hosted data platform.

How this list is built

The projects below are sorted by GitHub stars. Star counts and last commit dates are read from the public GitHub API. The line under each name is generated from the category, the license, and whether the project can be self-hosted. 1 of 3 have an OSI-approved SPDX license, a commit in the last 12 months, and a repository GitHub has not archived.

Fewer than 3 alternatives meet that bar, so this page asks search engines not to index it.

We left out ImportCSV, react-csv-importer and YoBulk. ImportCSV has an MIT frontend, an AGPL-3.0 backend and admin, and offers commercial licenses. react-csv-importer is MIT but archived. We could not verify YoBulk's repo.
